Dishy jewelry plate

Here’s a pretty little thing from Karen.

“I wanted to share this hack because it’s so easy to do and inexpensive as well. I have tons of jewelry and was looking for a simple, pretty way to organize them. This really easy hack consists of a white porcelain 365+ series Drom side plate ($3.99) and the Neglinge candle holder (just 49 cents!). I used clear caulk to glue the two peices together (just a couple drops on the edges of the candle holder is sufficient), and now I have a small jewelry stand that I can hang earrings off of and place jewelry on. This hack can of course be done with any ikea plate (there were so many cool ones I had a hard time choosing…I’ll definitely be making more of these with larger plates considering all the jewelry I have) and any Ikea item that can be utilized as a stand.”

I woulnd’t have ever thought it was a mere plate and candle holder! Very good idea, I will definitely try this out!

  3. Lovely! I’m going to have to check out the plate section next time I’m in IKEA – I could really use something like this!

I would have NEVER thought of that! The jewelry boxes I have now are full, so I might have to go to Ikea and pick these items up.

  5. Lovely idea! I too have way too much jewlery.

I recently saw in a magazine a cool way to display jewelery. They had framed satin covered cork board and used pretty push pins to make decorative hangers for show casing unique jewlery. I bet there is an Ikea hack that could dublicate this idea.

  10. This is a very cute and simple idea. If u are careful a smaller plate and candle holder can be stacked on a larger plate and candle holder to make a larger surface. You may have to glue the top piece to ensure it wouldn’t fall.

I would have never thought of that for a jewelry stand. I’ve seen the same idea used (with flatter plates) and in a tiered version for cake stands and as dessert stands for things like baby/bridal showers. Very clever, very cute!

So beautiful. It’s simple and yet perfect. There are here many hacks that you can see the effort and money put in it that result …. wierd. Yet yours is the opposite: simple, simple and gorgeous. Love it.

    Love it! Very creative :-)

Using this same idea for the cake stands at my wedding: sundae dishes and clear platters from Goodwill. Clear caulk is the best invention ever! But now I have a plethora of cake stands laying around. Gonna have to find something to do with all of them!
