Movable laptop desk

Linda hacks together a mobile laptop desk. She didn't provide the names but I think the base is a Besta height extension unit. The shelf is supported by Capita legs.

Linda says, "I have a laptop computer with a battery out of order, a subwoofer and external hard disk. I wanted a piece of furniture that could hold all of them. I created it after two hours in Ikea Cronenbourg at Strasbourg in Alsace."

  1. No offense, this seems more like a "hack just for the heck of it", since Ikea as well as regular office supply stores already carry a massive selection of laptop desks.

  3. Nice to see these practical solutions - I think they will become key in the future of furniture.

  4. It looks good and seems to fit your space, so great hack!

I think you might be able to take it even further and make it look much neater, though, if perhaps you mounted the power board that's on the floor to the back of the unit. Also, maybe you could drill holes in the back of the unit by each shelf and organise the cables down the back.

PS love the fact that you have Ikeahacker on the screen of your Ikeahack - very meta!
