Shine a spotlight on this Tertial ceiling lamp

A year ago I received a three legged lamp from Jason. Aurélien ups it a notch with 6 lamps. And yeah, it's way cooler.

The base uses a Blanda Blank with 6 Tertial lamps screwed onto its rim. The hard bit is the wiring and making sure everything lights up as it should.

  1. That's cool in a way, but man, that must generate some major heat. I use a Tertial lamp on my nightstand, and it gets really hot very fast.

  2. @Scott: The heat probably has more to do with the bulb than the lamp. Try using a CFL to cut down on the heat.

  3. @Jose A I'm pretty sure those Tertial lamps take halogen bulbs, I don't think you can substitute a CFL. And yes, they do get very hot.

  4. That's great and all, but it looks creepy, like something from the Matrix.

  5. Small halogen bulbs can be replaced with LED bulbs, which is even cooler :)

  6. I appreciate it, but it would totally creep me out to have it in my house!

  7. Sorry, but just looks too silly.

  8. I thought I'd seen something similar to this before. Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips has the same kind of thing in his kitchen--here's a pic--
