He says, "I saw the Gestalta at Ikea a few weeks ago and wanted to get one, but the wife said 'There's no use for it!' So I came up with a 'use' for it. Got a couple of 3W Luxeon LEDs, took the Gestalta apart and wired it up through the limps. I used a Basisk table lamp base, left over from a friend's other project, to hide the electronic stuff."

Very clever, looks wonderful! I've always considered that figurine thing a frivolous item and wondered who'd buy it - this idea is great and something that actually looks sort of cool and unusual~

ReplyDeleteActually, these figurines do have a use as they are. They are used by artists to make it easier to draw a human figure in different poses.
