Eric shares:
A CD or DVD wall with lights made of:
6 Benno DVD towers
3 Anno Stra Panel curtains
5 Grundtal Spotlights (2 sets needed)
2 panels 250cm x 25cm (98" x 9.8") for top and bottom
2.5m (8.2') round wood (from a broomstick)
I cut the panel curtains on the long side to get 2 curtains out of 1.
Each curtain is now 23cm (9") large. I fixed the Benno DVD tower on the 2 long panels with 24cm (9.4") space in between for the curtains.
The spots are installed on the bottom panel between the DVD towers. I glued a piece of round wood at both ends of the curtains and fixed one end at the top panel. The wood at the lower end acts as a counterweight to keep the curtains tight.

Great!
ReplyDeletereally nice!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! I love great lighting. That's perfect accent lighting too.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there's a way to still have the light and utilize some of that space behind the curtains somehow, unless you aren't hard up for storage solutions like me!
I usually don't really like my DVD's showing (awkward pet peeve) but this looks REALLY good and I would love it in my home.
Disco Jess, you could get the frosted glass doors and do the same thing here for a nice effect!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you could get frosted panels for those DVD shelves! Great.
ReplyDeleteOoooh! These are good! I do hope Ikea come here and have a good nosy to see what inspirational things are going on.

ReplyDeleteor similar Colour controlled LED lighting. You could even have mood changing lighting in time with the music.
beautiful lighting, looks like a piece of furniture you'd pay a fortune for ready made.
ReplyDeleteI recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

So I've done all the steps but don't understand how to fixate the top wooden piece. Do I glue the top stick to the book cases or simply place on top of the edges of the book cases? Do you have close up picture of how the top looks? Thanks!
