He says, "The following pic show the original design of the low table. A back 'wall' had to be added later on while shopping, as the back part of the Lack shelves are not as flat as I thought."

His idea is to use two small square Lack tables and a shelf. Table legs are positioned horizontally, resulting in 4 levels for visual depth. The short green backing wall also forms a divider of sorts to separate the two spaces within the living area.
The parts are glued together, not the strongest option and makes the table is a bit fragile.

And finally, this!

See more of Andrew's low TV table.

Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI went to see Andrew's finished product and it looks great at night when he turns on the lights he put underneath. Job well done.
ReplyDeleteLooks quite good ... but to me it seems a little dangerous: did not yet anyone fall over it?
ReplyDeleteToo low for a tv stand???
ReplyDeleteMy neck kind of hurts looking at that. I don't get it.

ReplyDeleteWow looks very nice, nice work done.
ReplyDeleteThat looks about as "cozy" as a barbed-wire fence!
ReplyDeleteI get it when I look at the "aerial view" but the others, not so much. It's a great idea, and I love the color combination, but am clueless as to how this works in the room. Maybe this also has to do with the fact that most of the photos show a plant in lieu of a TV, and I don't understand the placement of it in the room, maybe if it was against the wall it would work better?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, keep at it, looks like you have some good ideas.

Thanks everyone for your comments.
ReplyDeleteAs I said on the web, the point of it is to separate the (small) living room in two parts: the one with the sofa, carpet and TV, and the one without carpet, which serves as "corridor" to the kitchen, entrance and dining room. It's a very small apartment (around 50 sqm) divided in living, dining, bedroom, kitchen, full bathroom and toilet cabinet, so you can imagine the size of the spaces.
The TV that low... for the moment, no problem at all. It's fine for me.
The table being fragile... yes, and more when you have a 6yo girl at home playing around, but she's learned to be careful (and I also have a 30sqm terrace, so she can be mainly outside). Nobody has fallen because of the table.
Anyway, I reckon it's a cheap item, and it kinda has a cheap look... No problem, when I'll get tired of it, I'll just change it.
It doesn't have a cheap look on it... it is actually nice. And about the tv that low, it is actually a lot more comfortable than a tv that is too high.
ReplyDeleteThe eyes doesn't get tired that much when looking "down" at a TV monitor as to looking at eye level or higher... so this should be comfortable.... unless the TV screen is not flat.
