What they did brilliantly was cut and paste Ikea fabric and then outlined them with poster paints. It's not tough to do. The results are delightful and is a great way to brighten up a wall.

ReplyDeleteThe only thing I wanted to add is that fabric can be stuck to wall quite securely with just liquid starch - so that leaves it completely removable. If you treat the edges of the fabric with something like fray check you can even throw all the pieces into a lingerie bag & launder them if needed. You could in that case cut the tree from fabric too - although not an outline likely...but you could. I would do a solid tree & you could layer it (so as not to need such a large piece) by cutting branches individually. That is a really great way to decorate in an apartment or if you do want to use it as a headboard & would ever like the option to move it. You could also have different leaves for different seasons. I have something similar for my sons (not trees though) and it stands up well to two busy toddler boys.
