Awesome cutting table. My father made one for my mom and had the same requirements: huge, soft edges and high. Great job!

ReplyDeleteYou can also make this same thing without the oak trima nd just use a router to give the edge a nice smooth finished look. Laminate comes in all colors too!

2. Did you trim the laminated particle board with oak yourself?

ReplyDeleteIf you ever tried to buy a proper cutting table, you'd know that under $350 is cheap. Having them built comes in around $800. I own a drapery workroom and I know. The kind of table you need isn't the cheapo fold up table you find at Walmart

ReplyDeleteJust saw this. I don't know why he said it was $350. IIRC, the two sets of legs came to about $160 (including the frames). The table top cost $40, and I think the strapping cost somewhere in the vicinity of $10. So my recollection of the total cost is in the $200 to $225 area. And I got a GREAT cutting table!

ReplyDeleteThe IKEA website shows these legs as adjustable to only 35" high. Did they discontinue the 40" high ones?
