michal spotted this ikea hack on the diynetwork. host samantha gleisten designs a bed with storage for a homeowner who is working full time, going back to school and caring for her mother. the site has detailed instructions but the short version is as follows.
3 lack shelving units in a U shape formation make up the base of the bed. across the bookcases, lay plywood to provide a surface for the mattress.
the headboard is made from an old sleeper sofa with its mechanics and wheels removed to fit the bookcase bed base.see more on the diynetwork.
see other bedroom hacks.

The curious thing about this is that according to feng shui, having stuff stored underneath the bed can lead to chaos, disorder, bad luck, etc. in one's life. That is, if you subscribe to that belief. :)
ReplyDeletehi,

...y la pértiga para saltar a la cama??? porque queda un poco alta, no? ;)
ReplyDeleteHate the sofa headboard!
ReplyDeleteI like the sofa headboard. I bet it's very comfortable!
ReplyDeleteI understand the needs this person had but this is a horrible design. Everything is out of proportion. Two bed skirts on the bed and they don't even match. Not to mention that they wrapped the bed skirt around the bottom of the sofa. The nightstand is way to short and basically useless to the person in the bed.
