stephanie's collages light up a dull wall

it's always interesting to see what artists do with ikea. stephanie levy, an american artist living in germany, create a series of collages for the ikea leitboxes (can't find the link on ikea website).

"the leitboxes were very easy to assemble. i just took out the plastic design sheets that ikea had installed and put in my own collages. the collages fit between two transparent pieces of plastic. the transparent plastic sheets were already there, so the main work was just designing the collages." the boxes, she tells me, are now sold.

more images of the collages here and here.

also check out her ikea dreams, a series of canvases inspired by images from the ikea catalog.
