skinny shoe storage that holds 36 pairs

dana was tight on space and found a slim solution for off-season shoe storage. most of all, i like how she painted the shoe boxes to blend with the colour scheme on the facing wall.

dana used small screws to fasten 4 units of trones shoe boxes together from the side. the fronts are painted with rustoleum's standard blue, green and light gray spray paint. the tops and exposed side are finished with rustoleum's aluminum paint to blend with the frame of the wall.

  2. This is excellent. I bought a package of the red/orange ones because I really hated the white/beige ones - but nobody likes the red/orange. At all.

    I'm going to get some of the white/beige and paint them. Thanks for this hack. Excellent!

  3. Love this! I use trones to store documents instead of shoes, and gonna try adding wall decals to them. hehehe...

  4. I used to use them as a "landing pad" in my old apartment, where they'd collect mail on the inside, keys and change on top. I mounted them to the wall one above the next in a column with a few inches of space between each unit.

    In my new place I'm actually using them for shoe storage, mounted to the inside of my coat closet door.
