easy storage for kitchen utensils

megan who runs the fabulous notmartha site sends in this storage hack for tiny kitchens. (also see her other hack.)

"i needed a place to hang some kitchen utensils but i didn't have any space in my kitchen except for the side of the cabinet next to the sink. trouble was i couldn't find any bars short enough for the 11-inch depth of the cabinet. i spent way too long thinking up the obvious answer: use a cabinet handle instead.

  1. Haha, nice. And then to think that I use a kitchen utensil hanger as handle to open the garbage bin drawer of my kitchen cabinet - allthough the hanger isn't Ikea and the cabinet is 100% homebuilt.

  2. Great idea! But what do you need 3 sets of tongs for?

  3. I don't think you could do this to a wall, could you? =( I love it.

  4. Very clever! Is there a longer bar available to hold those hooks? I think this would be great in a closet to hold various bags and purses.

  5. looks great...I have a huge kitchen with very little wall space...but I do have three areas on my cabinets where this would work perfectly.

and to the poster above who questioned the three sets of tongs...anyone who cooks would never ask that question!!!

  6. It's a great idea..couldn't find a rack the width I needed......this will do it And I'm going to mount it on a wall- first onto piece of wood and then mount the wood onto the wall.
