made from an ikea snudda lazy susan (can't find the link on ikea website) overlaid with an ironing board cover.

I don't get it though, why would you want an ironing board that rotates? For iron-on projects? I guess it makes going around corners easier- if you have that tiny iron thing.
ReplyDeleteWent to the clover website, couldn't read it, lol...
i guess it is for small pieces of craftwork. could be easier rotating the board than picking it up and moving it. the tiny iron thing is cool, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteyeah, I couldn't figure out the benefits to using this as an ironing board - it'd be too small to iron anything on.
ReplyDeleteIt would make an awesome lazy suzan / pot holder for your table, though.
Ooh, this is EXACTLY the solution I've been looking for, for putting together applique and pressing quilt blocks. It's such a pain to drag my beast of an ironing board out of the basement everytime I'm doing some sewing.
ReplyDeleteThis would indeed be a Godsend for quilts especially. Assembling a quilt is basically short bursts of sewing punctuated with short bursts of pressing: it's sew, press, sew, press all day long. This would make assembly much easier and more convenient than dragging out an ironing board that's the wrong size because it was designed for shirts.
ReplyDeleteNancy's Notions sells heat resistant Iron Qucik fabric, both unlined and quilted. I bought 2 yards to remake the cover on my steam press recently, another non-standard size ironing surface. The roundabout ironing table is brilliant for crafts, super idea!
