radiator cover up
nice idea to cover up unsightly radiators. edward's cover is made from a discarded hol storage cube and a lack wall shelf.

ReplyDeleteNo it is not a fire hazard - the radiator simply is not hot enough
ReplyDeletetrouble is, radiators work by creating an air flow, so there has to be an opening on top or enough space above the radiator to allow it (opening on top seems to be preferable). The picture doesn't allow to judge whether the shown setup works, but kudos for the nice look.
ReplyDeleteIt's my radiator, and though it's difficult to see, there's another opening behind the radiator so that the bathroom is heated as well. The cover needed to allow airflow but not allow whoever was sitting on the sofa plain view of someone stepping out of the shower. lol
ReplyDeleteAnd regarding the heat issue- it never approached a temperature where fire would be a problem.

well for all those who does not know.. radiator covers are traditional all over GB, where is cold.. they are good protector for sensitive hands of courious children or older people and also estetic solution for people who care..
So.. my congratulation again for saving the money that way!

Most radiator covers are engineered and designed for maximum heat distribution.

The radiator cover is a great idea, but just make sure safety isn't compromised, the covering needs to be able to absorb the heat that the radiator cover gives out. But in principle, really cool!
