need a wooden deck for your balcony?

i love mattias’ idea for his balcony flooring. so simple yet effective.

“i have used gorm shelfs as floor decking for my balcony. i just added an extra beam in the middle of every shelf. of course some treatment oil is recommended, but it’s still a rather cheap and easy way to get a nice balcony floor.”

Do you think it would be cheaper/easier to just use these deck tiles in the long run?

  2. Mattias says:

Well Ive had it for a few months now. It seems to have weathered quite well so far. But the winter isnt here yet and im very doubtful it will last more than a couple of years.

I don’t think these will weather well, no matter how much oil is used. And pine splinters quite badly when it warps.

    Good idea, though.

    Nice work!

I am tempted to do this outside at the end of the garden!
I am not sure how to go about it though.

No, I don´t like it. It looks like it doesn´t fit right. It´s way better to buy some wooden boards from a diy market. Cutting them to exact size. And it is cheaper than that ikea stuff.

  8. Jennifer says:

how much total did u spent on these?
