a wonderful find on apartment therapy. killorn sent in instructions for a captain's bed that not only looks great but has loads of storage.

The innovative world of furnitures comes with its own twist, this bed has been revised to suit the space provided. The transforming a simple as a bed into a bed that has shelf is creative enough.
ReplyDeleteThis is great, but something very similar is in Christopher Lowell's book "Seven Layers of Organization." The LACK beds in that book aren't on casters though, IIRC. There's also a LACK entertainment center, etc etc.

ReplyDeleteailido, she said she got it on ebay called dkny pure snow, but i think it's discontinued. check out www.brocadehome.com for similar quilt called ribbon quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat plastic Ikea lamp is one big dust collector, and extremely difficult to clean. I could never have something like that over my bed, my allergies would go into overdrive. It does LOOK pretty, though.

ReplyDeleteI think this is an easy do-it-yourself bed. I am amazed with the amount of storage it can handle beneath it. Probably, you can store hundreds of books there. And the bed looks amazingly neat and elegant. This is a great idea for those who wants space under their bed.
ReplyDeleteThis bed according to what I expect. I'd love to have a bedroom with its atmosphere. The bed was also very suitable for me because it has a storage area beneath it, so I can put some stuff down there.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible you could provide step-by-step directions? I'm not very savvy when it comes to carpentry but this seems easy enough. However, to start I'm finding it difficult to find the shelves you used on IKEA.com. Can anyone who has done this help?
