i'm on a jet plane

i'm off to australia in about 5 hours. woohoo!

can't wait for the movie marathon and stale airplane food.

first stop will be sydney for a week and onwards to alice springs. we'll then join a backpacker tour down to adelaide, stopping for the mighty uluru and other sights galore. (i bet 5 ikea allen keys that the tour guide will play this song. it's in the tour guide manual!)

for the next 2 weeks, i'll try to post from wherever i am but i reckon it will be spotty.

have a great weekend and see you in the land down under.

  1. Exciting! Enjoy your trip, and avoid the sharks!

If you have the chance, get Bill Bryson's In A Sunburned Country to read on the way!

  2. Have a great time! I spent 6 weeks there in the summer of '01 and it's just beautiful. You may not want to come back.

I actually never heard that song, but I did hear "Waltzing Mathilda" and "Home Among the Gum Trees". :)

If you get a chance, the radio station Triple-J was, I remember, fantasitc (and they stream live online for when you get home).

  3. Hey, if you meet anyone from down under who's looking to rent an apartment in Montpellier, France during the Rugby World Cup, please give them my blog address - we're looking to rent our place out for the whole month of September!

The Aussie team is based here in Montpellier, btw.

    Thanks! Christine

  4. I'm an IKEA'n here in Adelaide, You'll love it! Oh we have wi-fi spots all over the city (free from the state library computers) and we're all 3G mobiles here, so you can get a prepaid 3G here and video call home to a PC over skype if you want.

You'll love it here! Its winter tho so make sure you bring warm things for Sydney, Melb, and Adelaide...

Triple J and Nova are the best radio channels...

    Now enjoy yourself mate!
