expedit bed

dakota spotted this bed, hacked from the expedit bookcase on plea_sure’s flickr set and tipped me on it. it’s pretty amazing and offers great underbed storage. i wonder how comfortable it is.

    What size matress fits on there?

    This is not meant as a bed but as a large seating area for reading and what have you. No mattress would really fit on there but a custom one, check the expedit dimensions on ikea. If you do want to made one of these into a bed, a good local futon store (one that makes their own futons) can easily produce custom sized futons, but you will be committed to making or commissioning all bed linens.
