ikea spotting!

hey, some mid-week eye candy. nicole [thanks!] did some ikea spotting and spied this on apartment therapy. pretty little space with nice use of the docksta table and gilbert chair. doesn't look like it cost less than $350, does it? and can anyone place that gorgeous media unit?

go here to see the flickr set.

  1. hello, I recognize the media console from West Elm.

  2. Hmmm...wonder if Ikea copies other companies cause that console looks an awful lot like the Magiker TV Unit. Of course the West Elm version is much classier.

    PS: love the site!

  4. The Docksta is beautiful, but the plastic base attracts dirt like a magnet (just look at any sample in an ikea store). I bought one and sprayed matte varnish all over the base to give it a protective coat. I also scraped down the plastic moulding lines on each side of the column.

  5. I think the table is an original Saarinen, not a Docksta.
