i found this on the dragon preservation society homepage. woohoo! just proves that Ikea comes in handy in the strangest of ways.
and a bucler. whatzit? my guess is that it's a shield thingamajig but it looks kinda small to protect you from ... erm ... dragons. if you figure it out, do let me know. if not, i think it'll make a great toy or a prop when you need to play "sword-fighting".
to make one, you'll need an ikea julen salad bowl, a brico gate handle, some washes and a steel drill. bend the handle to fit the bowl and screw it in. and voila! bring on the fire. link.

A buckler is to deflect blows, but more agile than a full sheild. it's used mroe in fencing where weight and agility are paramount, but was used in heavy sword combat as well. Also handy for smashing in faces and punching oppents as it gets in a smaller areah... yup.
ReplyDeleteUh, I know things.
wow jen. i'm impressed. ;)
ReplyDeleteHey Jen, do you want to marry me?
ReplyDeleteWhen all the dragons and such have been defeated, it can come in handy to carry home the spoils of the battle - you know, dragon's teeth and scales, etc
ReplyDelete@LilianT: Not to mention salads.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't look like IKEA sells these metal salad bowls anymore... Go bigger with a $5 wok...?
